Fido can’t imbibe in your home brewed porter or ale, but you can put your spent grain to good use with these simple and healthy dog biscuits. A heaping cup of peanut butter adds a flavor your dog loves, and chopped parsley helps maintain fresh breath.

Ingredients
— 4 cups spent grain
— 2 cups all-purpose (or whole wheat) flour
— 1 cup organic peanut butter
— 2 organic eggs
— 1 cup chopped parsley
Preheat oven to 350°. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Roll out onto a floured surface to 1/2″ — 3/4″ thickness. Cut out desired shapes with cookie cutters or by hand. Line up on baking sheet.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Lower temp to 225° and continue baking for about 2 hours. This longer cooking time helps dry the cookies out and extend their shelf life. Cookies can be stored in an air tight container for about 2 weeks. The cookies can also be frozen for snacking at a later time.
Yield
2 — 3 dozen biscuits.
